Train

From Chester Train Station, walk north-west towards City Road. Turn left on City Road, then right onto Canal Side. Turn left towards Victoria Place then right onto Victoria Place. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Frodsham Street. Turn right onto Kaleyards then left onto Kaleyard Gate. Turn left onto Abbey Street then onto Abbey Square. Continue onto Abbey Square and Chester Market is on your left.

Bus

Buses run up to every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday from stand J at the Bus Interchange, running to Chester Indoor Market, Chester Cathedral, Town Hall Square and the Storyhouse.

Opening hours

Monday to Wednesday: 8am until 5pm.
Thursday: 8am until 9pm
Foodie Friday: 8am until 10pm.
Saturdays 2, 9, 16, and 23 November: until 10.30pm.

Butchers, fishmonger, and fresh produce stall open from 8am.

Other traders are open from 9.15am.

Christmas opening times

Thursdays 28 November, 5, 12 and 19 December: until 9pm

Sundays 1, 8, 15 and 22 December: 11am until 5pm

Parking discount

Parked in the Market car park?

You can now receive £1 off your parking by simply scanning your ticket in Chester Market. Why not take the opportunity to check out the fabulous stalls Chester Market has to offer?

The discount can be applied at the start or end of your visit to Chester.

Park and Ride

  • Monday to Friday: every 12 minutes between 7am and 7pm
  • Saturdays: 8am and 7pm
  • Sundays and Bank Holidays: every 15 minutes between 9.30am and 6pm

Just £2 for a return ticket and you can hop on and off all day.

Free travel on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm.

Kids go free – two children (under 16) travel free with an adult.
